MEMBER EVENTSSSA Seminar on SOLAS Container Weight Regulations, Chapter VI Regulation 2On 10th June 2016, the SSA jointly organised a seminar with law firm Ince & Co on Safety of Life at Sea on Container Weight Regulations. Ms Lisa Teo, Vice President & Honorary Secretary of SSA, Executive Director, Corporate Development, of Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd delivered a welcome address and highlighted the importance of the seminar; to provide a context for understanding the complexity of the new regulations, and address concerns from the whole supply chain. This was followed by a presentation on the background, various methods and processes of the new operational reality, by Capt. M Segar, Assistant Chief Executive (Operations), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Key stakeholders from the shipping industry formed a panel discussion and shared various perspectives on the impending implementation come 1 July 2016.
