Ebola outbreak
However at this point in time, it is unfortunate
that parts of Africa are facing a health crisis with
the deadly disease Ebola threatening countries
such as Liberia, Guinea, Sierra-Leone and Nigeria.
This is having an impact on the movement of
people, goods and services and so could be
dwindling the economic activities of ship
chandling. It is very important to mention that the
deadly outbreak is connected to eating bush
meats like monkeys, chimpanzees, bats, rats and
grass cutters; it is not attributed to cow, sheep,
pork meats, chicken, turkey, fish etcetera.
Meat and fish, which ship suppliers always
supply to vessels, are also basically consumed
by expatriates from Americas, Asia and other
European countries working in West African

countries. The bush meats associated with
Ebola are not supplied on vessels as far as we It is hoped a vaccine
