The project is designed to create
awareness of the ofshore marine sector
– a key sector in the Singapore maritime
industry. In addition to representatives
from the SSA community, the Maritime
and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA),
ofshore marine companies, port and
pilotage operators, ship agencies and even
the legal community put in more than
three months of work to make OSV@Vivo
a reality.
Mr Poulsson said: “We want to
showcase that the ofshore marine sector
ofers more diversity and specialisation – in
terms of career oferings and roles, such as
subsea, diving, remotely operated vehicles
(ROV) and survey – that are undertaken
in the ofshore marine space. As such,

besides the exhibitors, we have 81 Ship
Ambassadors on board, all volunteers
from our maritime companies, to share
their expertise and shipping life stories.”
Thanking the sponsors and the
management of Vroon Ofshore and Swire
Paciic Ofshore “for allowing us the use
of their ships, and their crew of VOS Prince
and Paciic Legacy”, Mr Poulsson said he
hoped the initiative would inspire “our
youth to uncover the varied career tracks
that shipping can provide. It is only with
the help of our MaritimeONE partners
MPA, SMF and ASMI, have we been able to
use OSV@Vivo as a platform to reach out
to the youth of Singapore.”
