THOME WORLDSenior ManagementVessel Visit:M.T. Fair SeasBy Yatin Gangla,Chief Operating Officer, Bulk DivisionThe Aframax tanker M.T. Fair Seas was visited at Singapore anchorage on the 31st October 2016 by Mr. Yatin Gangla, Chief Operating Officer of the Bulk Division in Thome Ship Management. The Fleet Group Manager Mr. Ajay Yadav and the Marine Manager Capt. Hardeep Mundae also attended the vessel.The M.T. Fair Seas was built at STX Jinhae shipyard in Korea in 2008 and has been in management since delivery. The vessel generally is engaged in the carriage of clean products and was calling at Port of Singapore to take on bunkers for the upcoming voyage.The visit is part of the continued engagement of senior management with vessel operation and interaction with the crew.The Master, Capt. Yashpal Singh Chahar and Chief Engineer, Mr. Patson Clemente are both from India. The Chief Officer, Mr. Ramon Padilla and 2/E Mr. Ulymuel Binueza are from the Philippines. The vessel was noted to bein a well maintained condition and it was evident that the senior management on board the vessel were working in close cooperation with the other officers and ratings to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel.A general inspection of the vessel was carried out and there was a good discussion with the Master and Chief Engineer regarding the operational issues on board. A meeting was also held in the afternoon with all available officers and ratings and they were reminded about the company’s anti- detention campaign, why it is important for us and the role they can play in preventing detentions. The company’s new Missionand Vision and the Core Values were also discussed and explained to the crew. The visit was concluded in the evening and the vessel completed taking on bunkers and departedSingapore early the next day.8 | ISSUE 47 | DECEMBER 2016
