THOME WORLDHAFNIA NB IN THOME SHIP MANAGEMENTBy Damir Maric,Fleet Group Manager, FG 15The history of the Hafnia fleet new buildings taken over by Thome Ship Management goes back to April 2015 when the first vessel in the series of 6 was delivered from HMD / MIPO shipyard in Ulsan – Republic of Korea.Since then we have taken over 6 vessels built by HMD- MIPO and integrated into Thome fleet, namely: Hafnia Bering, Hafnia Malacca, Hafnia Magellan, Hafnia Soya, Hafnia Sunda and Hafnia Torres.These are Handy size vessels declared as IMO type 2 or 3 chemical / oil product ships with 38,825 DWT, designed for 7 grade cargo with double valve segregation and a cargo capacity of 41,635 m3 at 98%.Main particulars:• LOA: 184.26 m• Breadth: 27.4 m• Draft: 11.915• DWT: 38.825• Main Engine: HYUNDAI-B&W 6S50ME- B9.3 (TIER II)• Auxiliary Engines: 3 x HYUNDAI 6H21/32 – 900 RPMThere are 12 cargo tanks plus two slop tanks which are fitted with Framo type cargo pumps, with a full cargo discharge time of 15 hours plus stripping. Tanks are coated with a Phenol Epoxy coating.The independent Inert Gas Generator has capacity of 3,750 m3/hr running on MGO/MDO.The second part of the Hafnia fleet which were built at GSI shipyard in Guangzhou, China and consists of 8 vessels from which we have taken over 5 so far and they are namely:Hafnia Ane, Hafnia Lene, Hafnia Henriette, Hafnia Daisy and Hafnia Lise.Hafnia Daisy and Hafnia Lise are built to Ice Class specification as they entered into a Valero 5 year charter and will be trading within US waters including ports in St. Lawrence Waterway during winter time.Three more vessels to be taken are: Hafnia Kirsten due in December 2016. Hafnia Lotte and Hafnia Mikkala to follow in 2017.These are MR vessels declared as IMO type 2 or chemical/ oil product ships with 49,999 DWT, designed for 6 grade cargo with double valve segregation and cargo tank capacity of 53,530 m3 at 98%.Main particulars:• LOA: 183.2 m• Breadth: 32.26 m• Draft: 12.852• DWT: 38.825• Main Engine: Hudong-man-B&W 6S50ME- B9.3 (TIER II) • Auxiliary Engines: 3 x anqing-daihatsu 6dk-20eThere are 10 cargo tanks plus two slop tanks whichare fitted with Marflex type cargo pumps, with a full cargo discharge time of 18 hours plus stripping.
