The watchword in planning today’s event has been a 10 year
horizon. We know that many of you make business decisions
on a routine basis with that timeframe, and beyond, in mind,
yet too often conferences and forums focus, it seems, on
what will happen this year or next. It is easier to forecast of
course, but in shipping few decisions can be taken which have
an impact within that timeframe. So today is a day for long-
term thinking and real strategic planning”
