International Shipping Week (LISW)

gathered in the lavish surroundings of

Lancaster House for an oficial Government and

industry reception attended by Her Royal Highness

The Princess Royal, Patron of LISW15.

Patrick McLoughlin, MP, said: “On behalf of the

Government I am pleased to welcome you all

here tonight to Lancaster House during London

International Shipping Week. London is the

capital city of world shipping, home of the Baltic

Exchange, Lloyds of London and the IMO, and the

UK as a whole is a home for the world’s greatest

concentration of maritime services. From maritime

trading, inancing, ship brokering, legal services and

insurance, they are investing for growth.

“In recent decades, international shipping has

undergone incredible change and this is the result

of globalisation and the opening of new markets. It is

also the result of innovation in the shipping industry.
