LISW15 opens
the London Stock
Exchange

ow best to highlight the inluence that
London’s inancial services plays in the
global maritime industry than by inviting
LISW15 to formally open the London Stock
Exchange on the opening Monday of the event.
Over 40 shipping industry big hitters, press and
government oficials attended the opening which
was performed by Shipping and Ports Minister
Robert Goodwill, MP (pictured far right), assisted
by Royal Fleet Auxiliary Commodore Robert Dorey.
The importance of shipping to the inancial markets
was highlighted and the occasion gave the Minister
the opportunity to talk about the role Government
was playing in the industry with publication of its
Maritime Growth Study.
