Set against a 360° backdrop of the glittering Singapore skyline,
the SMW Opening Reception brought together 200 partners

and industry peers for a night of fun, entertainment and drinks.

This exclusive event provided a platform for maritime
leaders to network and build strong collaboration in an

informal setting.

Mr Andrew Tan, Chief Executive, Maritime and Port

Authority of Singapore, thanked the attendees for their
support and said, “ For those of you who have been with us

since its inception, SMW has grown over the years from 2,900

attendees in 2006 to 31,700 attendees in 2015. This year, the

11th edition crosses a new milestone in bringing together 31

unique events that cater to both the business community and
public-at-large.”

He also took this opportunity to highlight Sea Asia 2017,

the anchor event for next year’s SMW and stated, “Having

attracted 16,000 attendees from 85 countries and over 400
exhibiting companies in 2015, this biennial event has grown

from strength to strength. In spite of the current market

climate, we can still expect to see a buoyant showing of
inluential industry professionals coming together at one of

Asia’s most respected maritime events.”
