Paul Weller
The Modfather, aka Paul Weller, is back with his 12th solo album and the nine
tracks give us an insight into his broad musical styles.
The former frontman of The Jam has well and truly embraced the spectrum
of musical genres and this is evident on the Beatlesque ‘Going My Way’ to the
stomping trad blues of ‘In The Car’.
Just as he did, going from the punk rock of The Jam to the more soulful
pop sounds of The Style Council, Weller constantly reinvents himself
and successfully too.

You would not recognise this as Mumford & Sons – until hearing the vocals
from the brilliant Marcus Mumford – as the London-based band have a
completely new sound.
This album, from the group that gave us the glorious Sigh No More and Babel,
marks a departure from their usual folk rock sound as they have swapped
their acoustic instruments for electric ones and added in a session drummer.
Overseen by Arctic Monkeys’ producer, James Ford, the album was somewhat
of a gamble considering their legion of folk fans but we think it has paid off.

Watch out
Apple’s long-awaited Apple Watch collection has recently been launched and we
like the nifty look of the Sport version.
The watch runs a version of iOS that is smarter than its smartphone counterpart
but you won’t be able to make calls or use web-based services without being
connected to a compatible device – iPhone 5 or up. Navigating the display is easy
and it incorporates itness tracking as well as a whole host of apps.
