His love of walking was tested to 

the limits recently when Mr Hinchliffe 

took a trek in the Annapurna region of 
the Himalayas, Nepal, for 12 days (six 

days to trek to base camp, six days to 
trek back). “My immediate thought 

was just how incredibly big everything 
seemed,” Mr Hinchliffe said of the 

trek, which he embarked upon with his 
wife and other family members. “It’s 

just great, seeing how big the 
mountains are, on this huge scale – it 

was also very cold!”

This leisure hobby has also 
influenced Mr Hinchliffe’s reading 

habits as he explained he enjoys 
reading about the different experiences
