This isan important strategy, not only to reduce negative environmental impact, but also to reduce costs.Norway is ranked # 2, after Sweden, at the list of the Top 10 Greenest Countries based on performance (EcoWatch, Dual Citizen LLC).At Thome Group’s office in Oslo, Norway’s capital, the management focuses on behaving in an environmentally friendly way. This picture is of Claes Eek Thorstensen and Thome Group’s Oslo-based Director of Business Development, Sverre Ditlev-Simonsen, who travels from meeting to meeting on a scooter, which emits very small amounts of CO2, reduces travel time, and is easier to park in a busy city.ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENTECO OFFICE AUDIT RENEWALSBy : Madelyn Tan,Assistant Manager, Group HSSEQThome Ship Management (TSM), Thome Offshore Management (TOM) and Thome Oil & Gas (TOG) have successfully completed the ECO Office renewal audits on 16th November 2016. As a result, the 3 companies have been awarded ECO Office Certificates valid from 16 Dec 2016 to 15 December 2019.The main objective of the certification is to reinforcethe environmental messageto our offices by incorporating environmental practices into the daily lives of ourcolleagues and to inspire crew onboard to do their part to preserve the environment.Since 2014, Thome Group, in collaboration with the Singapore Environmental Council (SEC), has decided to make its worldwide offices more environmentally friendly.We are proud to be the first ship management company to obtain ECO Office certification in Singapore as wellas Philippines.DECEMBER 2016 | ISSUE 47 | 13
