The Swedish Club is a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs and offers full mutual P&I cover on a Group basis.
Having handled complicated P&I matters for more than a century, the Club has gained extensive experience

in large casualty response. We are well known in the market for a professional, yet practical hands-on

approach concerning claims handling, and for having a close relationship with our members.

The Club’s strategy is to provide long-term stability in pricing which will enable shipowners

to budget future costs for P&I cover. We offer P&I insurance to owners as well as
charterers and offer our members a wide range of additional and customised cover to

complement their basic P&I insurance.

The Swedish Club has offered FD&D cover since 1984 and it is usually F

provided in conjunction with P&I insurance - about half of our P&I

members also have FD&D cover with the Club.

A member covered for FD&D has direct access to the Club’s FD&D

lawyers for advice and assistance even if no dispute has arisen. If in the
case of dispute, external lawyers need to be instructed, our philosophy is

to appoint individuals rather than irms, in order to obtain the particular

From our ofice in Oslo, Norway, the Club writes a wide range of insurance cover e

including H&M, Interest and Loss of Hire for Mobile Offshore Units and FPSOs.

Team Norway also handles the Club’s marine insurance activities for Norwegian and

international Offshore Service Vessels, with risks written on recognized international nap

Kidnap and Ransom

The Swedish Club’s Kidnap & Ransom insurance protects your organisation against the inancial loss that can arise when

a crew and/or vessel is seized or detained for ransom. We also provide access to Kidnap & Ransom experts and other
consultants who will assist to resolve the incident successfully.
